Whitney Lohmeyer is faculty at Olin College of Engineering, where she directs the Olin Satellite + Spectrum Technology & Policy Group (OSSTP), and a Research Affiliate at MIT in Aeronautics and Astronautics. Whitney is passionate about higher education and enabling affordable Internet access in order to generate economic growth, improve healthcare and education. Today, she manages and contributes to the field of satellite communications systems, working closely with industry to advise on end-to-end system design, antenna systems, and spectrum strategy. Whitney was the first engineer hired at OneWeb, where she designed the RF Link Budget, actively contributed to policy reform at the FCC and ITU, serving on the US Delegation to World Radio Conference 2015. Whitney received her Ph.D. in AeroAstro from MIT in 2015, and her M.S. in AeroAstro from MIT in 2013, and her B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from NCSU in 2011.
